Maxine Kamin was born in Jersey City, NJ, during the postwar Baby Boom and grew up in Yonkers, NY.

As part of a Masters in Library Science, Maxine enrolled in a photography course and she was hooked. After retiring from her career, she actively pursued her goal of becoming a photographer.

Ms. Kamin is a member of the Ulster County Photography Club, Mohonk Preserve Volunteer Photographers, and ASK. (Arts Society of Kingston)

 

Her work has been shown at La Bella Pizza Bistro and The Bakery in New Paltz (solo shows), as well as many group shows locally including the 2016 Juried Photography Exhibit at the ASK Gallery, the LGBTQ center in Kingston, Ulster Savings Bank (Gardiner) and the Elting Memorial Library.

 

Ms. Kamin’s images have appeared in the book, “The Gunks Through Time”, Mohonk Preserve print and online publications, Overseas Adventure Travel catalogues, and the calendars of the Rondout Savings Bank and Mid Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union. Her notecards and photos are available at Handmade and More, and the Hudson River Maritime Museum.

 

A New Paltz resident for 35 years, she and her husband, Marc now live in Port Ewen, NY.
